I'm really into nature and really into survival. A military career is a strong possibility for my future, so combining the two would be excellent. Any tips on any certain branch and any certain occupations under said branch that would satisfy what I'm looking for?Is there any subbranch of a branch of the US military that specializes in wilderness survival?
The USAF has a group of SERE (Survival Evasion Resistance and Escape) specialist. These guys practice and teach survival techniques in all environments around the world. They then are assigned to various wings thoughout the Air Force to teach pilots these techniques.
Go army, they run SERE and you could probably become an instructor there but would have to do infantry or rangers or something for a while first, as well as go through the school. Is there any subbranch of a branch of the US military that specializes in wilderness survival?
Like the other 2 said, SERE.
