When we substitute belief for Truth we are destined to wander in the wilderness?

Your thoughts on this? When we substitute belief for Truth we are destined to wander in the wilderness?
Hm, interesting. The question to ask is whether or not there exist a universal truth. Because truth can be different things to different people. What's true for one person may not be true for another.
What one believes just may be true. Belief and truth are not by necessity in a dialectical or oppositional relationship. Your insight might have more to say to the reader if it were phrased "when we believe in something that is not true are we destined to wander in the wilderness?"

However, in a world where much of the truth remains in exile, one can expect some measure of wandering whether one sees and adheres to the truth or not...When we substitute belief for Truth we are destined to wander in the wilderness?
Not necessarily. There's weight to the idea that knowledge is true belief. The two concepts are not (always) mutually exclusive. Humanity is still in search of truth, and in the meantime, it subsists on beliefs. If you have in mind an absolute truth (with your capital T there), then I am inclined to say that it's actually the other way around: the search for Truth will get you nowhere, not even perhaps in the wilderness. My point is: we should not be quick to downgrade beliefs.
Belief is a necessity for some. There are people who are not destine to face the TRUTH, some too weak. I think that harmony comes when there is a mixture of truth, and belief.
I would question whether absolute Truth is knowable in all circumstances. Sometimes, in my opinion, all we have is belief.
truth is not a function of things, but rather of the human mind. And therefore subjective.
