How did the writer know about Jesus and the Devil in the wilderness for days, when the writer wasn't there?

divine inspiration. or maybe Jesus told them while He was still alive. either way, same thing. the Bible is the inspired word of God.How did the writer know about Jesus and the Devil in the wilderness for days, when the writer wasn't there?
The Bible is inspired by God, by the Holy Spirit.

How did the writer know about Jesus and the Devil in the wilderness for days, when the writer wasn't there?

1. The apostles and disciples traveled with Jesus for a little more than 3 years. Jesus teach them a lot of things during that time. That is applicable to Mathew and John.

2. In the case of Mark, he traveled a lot with Peter (one of the apostles). He also spend time with many other apostles and disciples. Peter (and others) told Mark what they had seen and received from Jesus.

3. In the case of Luke, he traveled a lot with Paul, visiting the churches at many cities, including visiting Jerusalem where he met and interviewed many of the apostles and other people that knew Jesus in person.

4. Later, and this applies to all Bible writters, when they write down the gospels the Holy Spirit inspired them what to write.

How did the writer know about the flood story, when he or she wasn't on the boat?

1. Noah and his sons told the flood story to their descendants. The story went through oral tradition from fathers to sons for generations until the times of Moses.

2. The Holy Spirit inspired Moses what to write from all things Moses had heard, had seen, or knew from whatever other sources.
Good question. Or how did the writers know what went on when it was only Jesus and a prostitute at the well.

I guess Jesus had to tell them and they had to take his word for it. But if someone told me he went walking with the devil in the desert, i would need more proof than his word.

Then again, Christians don't need proof for anything apparently. What other group could you bilk 10% from with that story? How did the writer know about Jesus and the Devil in the wilderness for days, when the writer wasn't there?
There are two ways how this can be plausible:

-Jesus WAS there and Jesus used to speak to his disciples. So we come to know it today as they came to know it, through a dissemination of this story telling,

Also , Noah and his sons WERE there in the flood. Their sons told it to their sons etc. and in the same way this story reached to us today

OR

-God is alive. God speaks. God was there in both those cases. So God told it to the writers.

how did the writer of revelation write about all the future events which are happening now when he existed in a different time ?
The same way the writer knew about Harry and Hermione in the woods; they made it up.
The Bible was inspired by God.

You really should learn about a subject before trying to discuss it.
Nothing in the book that fell from the sky is a first hand report.
Great Question.

I assume that Jesus told the disciples.
The writers were instructed by God what they should write.
God told the person what to write.
Jesus told them as He said He would

don't you read the gospels?
