Is there any hunting or wilderness trails or something to that nature close to Los Angeles and Orange County (in California)? Hunting (as in hunting deer or other small animals)...
Or any type of open country or open wilderness (forests?) that one can go in for free and roam.Wilderness in California close to Los Angeles and Orange County?
No such place exists in southern Kalifornistan any more. Yes we have "wilderness" area's and vast amounts of desert but the dictators have ruled that human presence must be tightly controlled and fee's collected to help maintain them. Los Angeles county has several wilderness area's a short drive from town and these do have hiking trails and campsites among them you have to stick to the trails and camp in the designated area's lest you run afoul of the jr rangers that patrol them. Hunting can be done within respective seasons and permits but the game is not plentiful. To give you an Idea they sold 7000 hunting tags for L.A. and harvested only 14 deer. To hunt for small game it's the same thing. L.A. is a city with 25 million people if just 10% go hunting that's 250,000 hunters trying to do the same thing no wonder there's little hunting opportunity. Of course there are private lands and hunting clubs where they stock game and you can pay even more to hunt like Europe. Any way here are a couple of links to help you find a place to hunt.

Check your local parks and rec web site because those would be your only options. Most if not all private property would off limits and they wouldn't just allow anyone to roam free.
But there probably isn't any hunting allowed in public parks and you would need a license for that anyway which is a whole other bag of worms......................NOTHING IS FREE ANYWAYS
