Main events of the Israelites in the wilderness?

So, i'm writing a research paper on the main events that happened in the wilderness after the Israelites received the 10 commandments. The only one I can think of is when the israelites made the golden calf and worshiped it.

Remember that God gave the Israelites manna from Heaven to feed them. It lasted indefinitely. Then they got bored with it and complained so God provided them with quail-like birds. But they spoiled quickly so they had to be eaten fast or not at all. Oddly it had the effect of making the Jews even more dependent on God. Israel was ultimately scattered because of the Jews worshiping the Canaanite idols instead of their own God, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
It's a little known fact that they were also known as the 'Fugawies'...
