Can anyone think of some famous writers or people in general who have gone into seclusion in the wilderness?

I'm trying to think of some writers (or other famous figures in general) who have gone to live in the wilderness for a year or so, or who secluded themselves from society in some way. I know there are quite a few, but for some reason I can't think of any right now.
