What is the purpose of the volcano in the Northern Wilderness of Runescape?

Notice: I AM NOT talking about the Wilderness Volcano in the center of the Wilderness. I'm referring to the very, very northern one labeled "Volcano". Is there any purpose to this other than for looks? I've had a few duels here, but that's about it, and I've been very curious.

No as far as usefulness goes, it is just for looks really. Jagex have not made any announcements regarding this volcano.
I think that there will be an update there soon eneough. If you goto the north part of it you can see a ghost ship, and jagex have said the Ritual of The Majhratt will include a new majhratt (sifils i think his name is) that lurks in the shadows. Maybe this volcano will be used in this quest?



I dont know much about it but it used to be used alot for members PvP wars.

if your talking about the one past the gate in the same area were the wizard arena or something like that is right? their are a couple wolves im pretty sure its just their for show and practice mainly killing random revs or wolves.
