Under coniferous trees there can be a cone shaped shelter by removing the low hanging dead branches. If there is a lot of snow on the ground then the snow will aid in the wind block attribute and insulate the structure.
If you are camping then you should have prepared ahead by bringing a communication, extra food and water and a tent. If you are in your car, stay in your car unless it is in a dangerous spot. Set up a signal to indicate to passers by and would be rescuers that you are in the area.
