Where is a good Northern California - camping wilderness survival territory?

My father, my brothers and I are going on a wilderness survival campout for a week. Small packs with minimal stuff, no food, just fishing poles. We plan on going sept 22-27 I was looking for a place we could go near the top of California, does anyone know a good place that is up there?Where is a good Northern California - camping wilderness survival territory?
National Forests of NORTHERN California:

Six Rivers, Klamath, Shasta-Trinity, Mendocino, Lassen, Modoc.

The survival on FISH conversation:

"We are going into the wilderness to survive. On our own. No help from anyone. No government interference. No fancy gear. No taxes. Just us and the fish. Survival of the fittest. Mono e mono. Now, where is the closest fish hatchery?"
In Northern California just walk out into your back yard :) In all seriousness now, the state is completely covered in National Parks, State Parks, regional parks, National Forests, open spaces, and so on. I am a very big fan of Marble Mountain Wilderness in Klamath National forest. Just remember, when you visit a wilderness, keep it the way you came across it for future travelers. Follow Leave-No-Trace ethics. Do your research at www.lnt.org and make sure to read http://www.lnt.org/training/PDFs/Princip鈥?/a>

As far as going out with no food, I do appreciate your enthusiasm, but as most experts would say, survival should be left for survival situations. This sounds like a wonderful exercise, but bring an emergency supply of food. Agree not to use it unless you absolutely have to. 5 days is a long time and fish are not a reliable or sufficient source of all your nutritional needs especially since you'll be burning a lot of calories traveling through the mountains. In a worst case scenario, think if you're 3 days out and your father and/or one or more of your brothers are seriously injured by a rockfall or falling down a cliff. It could be quite some time before help is available. While that would truly be a test of survival, do you really want to worry about gathering food and getting help at the same time in this situation? It's one thing to survive if your boat sinks, or your plane crashes in a remote area, but another to put yourself in this kind of situation. I don't agree with the Boy Scouts on some things, but there's one that I surely do agree and that is their motto "be prepared".Where is a good Northern California - camping wilderness survival territory?
I'm no backpacking expert... but my boyfriend is very outdoorsy... From what I heard... Places that he wanted to go would be Yosemite National Park or Sequoia National Park. I would look online for more details on these. Yosemite might be the better choice.

They do state they no longer stock Yosemite...
