If you like wilderness areas that are densely populated with forests choose the great lakes region (Upper Michigan/Northern Wisconsin are nothing but woods dotted with maybe a few towns in between).
If you like flatlands and praries choose a state around Kansas or Nebraska (maybe Colorado).
If you like hiking/mountains I either suggest visiting Colorado or Georgia.
If you like swamps theres Lousiana.
If you like deserts there is Arizona/Texas. Depends on what your taste is... just stay away from major cities/port areas and you should be fine.
If you are talking about Alaska though... basically everything along the interior (not along coast) is wilderness, and perhaps taking a inland tour during specific times when the ice melts and flowers bloom/etc... is supposed to be beautiful.
There are many parts of Northern New England (Vermont, Maine and New Hamshire) that are very wooded and secluded. The Adirondack mountains in New York are also that way. You won't need an uzie to shoot deer here, so leave it at home. What is a good place to visit in america? I dont like urban areas i like wilderness?
The Smoky Mountains are beautiful, they offer a lot of scenery, hiking and cabin areareas. Also the nantahala forest in S.C.. is also a great area.
Yellowstone, or The Grand Canyon
Colorado areas with Colorodao Springs, or the Garden of the gods (In Colorodao) are great areas as well
Savannah, GA not very wilderness like but you will fall in love with the old world style and spanish moss.
Its beautiful
You've answered your own question more or less. Contact the US Consulate/Embassy in your home area and ask for information on US National Parks or visit the National Park Service web page yourself (google it). This will give you a wide range of choices from all over the US, including Alaska. Also places like Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park and other less well known but spectacular wilderness areas.
US of A is a pretty big piece of real estate....Montana is beautiful... and you can find wilderness in all 50 states. just less wilderness in smaller states like New bJersey or Rhode Island....
