I would like to include the term wilderness in the tattoo however I am looking for other possibilities. Can anyone think of the etymology of the word? Or perhaps more elegant form of the word. THANKS!Im looking to get a tattoo that displays nature. Can anyone think of a word to replace wilderness?
There is nothing more elegant than the thing itself, not the word that acts as it's shadow.
A howling wolf, or a wolf staring straight at the viewer is a much better tattoo representing the wilderness than some ancient word.
"Into the Wild"Im looking to get a tattoo that displays nature. Can anyone think of a word to replace wilderness?
That's a tough one. Wilderness comes from the Old english word wildeoren, meaning "wild, or savage."
the green man
you have to look it up
forest?
the green man
or the pentagram
or have "earth mother" tattooed
they are all to do with nature
Hey, I found the following words on an online thesaurus:
back country, badland, barrens, boondocks, boonies, bush, desert, forest, hinterland, jungle, no-man's land, outback, primeval forest, sticks, waste, wasteland, wild, wilds
One of my mates got this gorgeous tattoo done of along stem of plant (can't remember which one it was now) with leaves, going from the right side of his hip up to his chest. He said it hurt like a demon over his stomach but it looks fantastic.
Had some white ink added into it to make it appear 3D!
The Tibetan Character for Earth is beautiful.
