Im looking for a wilderness program that is not for troubled teens?

Im 16 years old and im wanting to go on a wilderness adventure but I cant find anything thats not for troubled teens. Also something thats not "fake" wilderness on a private owned acreage with trails and buildings and such. I just really want to find myself in nature.Im looking for a wilderness program that is not for troubled teens?
The Boy Scouts have a program for high school %26amp; college aged youth called "Venturing". The Venture program is all about high adventure activities outdoors. Unlike Boy Scout Troops, a Venture Crew can be co-ed (male %26amp; female members) and is run by the members, with adult advisors, who decide what activities %26amp; adventures they want to pursue.

There are several wilderness programs %26amp; high adventure camps available only to Boy Scouts %26amp; Venture Crews.

You can do a search under "BSA" to find a BSA council in your area and see if there are any Venture Crews active in your community.
HI Stormy, glad to have found this... A few months ago, I am actually looking for a teen wilderness program too! I found this one good site that will surely be helpful - http://teenwildernessprograms.org

Hey Stormy,

I suggest you check out http://www.choicecamps.com. This free camp referral site lets you search for programs by location, compare programs, and watch videos and dvds of camps. The website allows you to explore exciting summer opportunities where you can meet new people and see new places.

Choice Camps networks with numerous wilderness programs where you can experience nature and meet teens just like you. I suggest you check out Deer Hill Expeditions: River and Mountain Adventure. You can backpack with other teens and see the beautiful country of the Western United States. To find out more, visit: http://www.choicecamps.com/teen-tours/de鈥?/a>

Best of luck with your search for your next outdoor adventure!

Jennifer
