I'm going to be spending quite some time in wilderness areas of North America. I'll mostly be alone, and I want some music to suit the experience.
If you have artists or albums to recommend, great! But even genre recommendations are better than nothing.
Thanks! What music would you recommend for trips into wilderness?
My gut instinct is to suggest that the wilderness *is* the experience and it has it's own music. The sound of the wind, birds, wild animal calls, babbling brooks and roaring waterfalls, bees buzzing from blossom to blossom, trees creaking as they sway, crickets chirping.......all part of nature's chorus that will potentially be lost behind whatever music you bring to "enhance" the experience.
Having said that, I do understand what you mean. I just think that there is no one genre that exemplifies the experience. If you want to bring music, just bring your favorite song list. Any music you bring will importing an outside experience to the wilderness.....you may as well bring a piece of your personal world. Even better, consider leaving the ipod behind and pack a flute, harmonica, or backpacker guitar and let the experience inspire you to create your own music.
It sounds like potentially a great time, best wishes!
try the coraline soundtrack, especialy the song explorationWhat music would you recommend for trips into wilderness?
