Does Blue Wilderness dog food have too much protein in it for a beagle?

I'd like to try out Blue Wilderness for my beagles but I've heard it's better suited for large breed dogs because of the high protein content.

Should I try out Blue Wilderness or go with Blue Buffalo, which has a slightly lower protein content, instead?Does Blue Wilderness dog food have too much protein in it for a beagle?
You should try it. I have a feist, shiba inu %26amp; 50lb mix on it %26amp; they are fine with it. The mix is almost 10yr %26amp; her coat has never looked better. The other 2 are 2yr %26amp; 5yr are in mid 20lb range. Try one bag then you can go with reg. BB if you want. But the Wilderness is the superior food %26amp; 6 star.
how much protein your dog needs depends more on activity level, and the individual dog than his breed or size. however, my pit bull terriers (who are active in sports, as well as just general running around, being terriers) do not do well with a higher protein content- it gives them loose stool.

there's only one way to find out which is better for your dog- although, if he's relatively low activity (normal house dog, just a few walks and play, rather than a hunting dog, or competing in sports) it's safe to assume you could just get the product with the lower protein.Does Blue Wilderness dog food have too much protein in it for a beagle?
No it does not.

As long as your dog is 18 months and older, the dog food is fine. calcium phospurous ratio is what you have to watch, Not the protein.
