You will need a backwoods pass for long term camping
Alaska, the final frontier. . . though I know of a little beach in California, where fresh water drips out of the cliffs, there is plenty of fishing, crabs, wild spinach and miners lettuce grows wild. It is located about 8 miles south of a little beach called guadalupe, on the central coast. You have to hike along the beach and the cliffs edge. It is a bit of a hike, and so you will see very few people if any. I once stayed there for 21 days and only saw 4 or 5 people.Where is the best place in the continental US to live in wilderness?
West Wyoming in the mountain ranges has multiple national parks and places to camp and its gorgeous! Washington state also has lots of campgrounds. I know a national park in southern oregon that goes into northern Cali and its INCREDIBLE!! Its by a lake and there are lots of caves and its surrounded by mountains and forest. So amazing. Alaska in the summer is also pretty awesome and very remote.
Have fun and good luck!
Glacier National Park in Montana. Breathtaking and summers there are incredible. Just watch out for bears and other animals that can kill you. If you like Ocean and mountains go to Oregon.
Rawah Wilderness in Northern Colorado. Maybe you might encounter a cougar, but not likely a bear.
