I checked the Sierra Club website, but I did not find anything there. I am looking for a basic program at first and then maybe move on later to an advanced program. I have some basic camping and hiking knowledge and experience. Thank you for your advice.Where can I take a Wilderness Survival Training Course in the New Jersey area?
Why do a course? Paying out money for stuff you can pick up yourself?
Why survivial? Is living OK outdoors alright instead? You can do that with some simple stuff.
If you've been out hiking and camping you may have picked up some stuff already from being out in the wilds. That's a good way to do things.
To live well outdoors you ned to be warm enough, fed enough, get enough to drink, stay healthy, get any wounds or injuries sorted, know how to get around and hopefully find civilisation as it's called.
The best bit about survival is getting out of the ....err, survival situation....
....what a name.
When you're out of it you've survived. Job done.
So you need to navigate, which for surviving is just knowing how find your way around and get toward some place where you'll be better off.

Keeping fed...if you can find food.

Check out some web sites. Just put 'survival' plus anything else.
Or more relevent things like basic first aid, sterilising water, knowing some basic stargazing so you know which way is which at night when the Moon isn't around.
And of course making a shelter...which you can work out for yourself anyway.
It isn't rocket science.Where can I take a Wilderness Survival Training Course in the New Jersey area?
